GACETILLA DOGUERA - ARGENTINE DOGO GAZETTE

What it’s all about: There will be articles, interviews, write ups highlighting and remembering those that helped build our breed – breeders, outstanding dogs, results from shows and more..... all about the Dogo Argentino in Argentina.
Initially there will be a Newsletter with some web support and once a year this will be put into print......The Newsletter will be a resumen of selected material and the printed edition will include all of it.
It is an idea that I have been mulling over for a long time. Several names were thought of for this contribution that I want to make to this marvellous breed.
I have to say that coming up with a name isn’t easy because the name should express the idea of the work that you want to do and I should also add that it’s difficult to do something which in the beginning you are doing almost completely on your own. I hope that as time goes by, you feel that this is our project and that many of you will collaborate.
We have to avoid the typical opinionated critics that we all know, who are the first to criticise but who never manage to lend a hand and are always in disagreement...
These words are perhaps a little harsh for some, and perhaps not too wise on my part, but they are what I feel, what I think to be true!!
I want to make it clear that I won’t allow badmouthing of others, nor lack of respect, the gazette won’t operate as a forum to avoid the often futile arguments that occur.
Ofcourse, whenever someone writes an article, they are fully entitled to express their own opinions. No one owns the breed, between us we can make it stronger! ( I’m not interested in political flags, nor groups, everyone will have their space)
And finally, if we all bring a grain of sand we can build a great monument.

My work and relationship with dogs goes back to my childhood.  In 1997 I started to work as an independent handler.  My work with dogs is based on my training in etologia  and my previous work as an obedience and guard dog trainer; I have worked with over 1,000 different dogs. I have achieved innumerable championships, rankings, BIS and BISS in Argentina as well as many other countries, with many different breeds, but on many occasions you have seen me winning, and working with great feeling when I have a Dogo Argentino in my hands. I have given many talks and seminars on dog behaviour.  I have judged in Open shows all over the country (shows with no points towards championships), as well as the Top 20 for Belgian Sheepdogs and Junior Handling at the main F.C.A. show. Additionally, I write articles and conduct interviews which are printed all over the world. Editor of Dog Show Winners and ‘Gacetilla Doguera’ Dogo Gazette. Member of the World Dog Press Association
